Can you spare a nickel? I’m trying to raise enough money to buy a MacBook entirely in nickels. To help, click here. Thanks!

Hogwash Served Fresh Daily

I recently discovered through “The Inquirer”:http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=17382 that the IE development team has started a new “IE Blog”:http://blogs.msdn.com/ie.
Is this some kind of horrible joke? Do these guys actually believe that “IE is the best browser in the world”:http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2004/07/21/190747.aspx? I’m having trouble deciding which is more funny: the serious (but totally off-base) posts by the developers themselves, [...]

What the — ?

Problem: I want the navigation bar across the top of my site to look like tabs, with the currently selected tab in front. This was easy to acheive in Firefox, but IE was a little pesky. For some reason, it was rendering the colors all wrong.

ContentWatch in the News

This doesn’t happen very often, but I have a “Google News Alert”:http://www.google.com/newsalerts set up to catch it when it does. “ContentWatch”:http://www.contentwatch.com appeared in an article called ["Safe Surfing":http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/family/article/0,1299,DRMN_107_3028609,00.html ] on “RockyMountainNews.com”:http://www.rockymountainnews.com.
The article comes in response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn a proposed federal law (i.e. the Child Online Protection Act) that would [...]

Frog in a Pot

Microsoft is going down, and they just don’t get it. I just read a “PCWorld.com”:http://www.pcworld.com article about “browser market share”:http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,116848,00.asp. Apparently, IE has lost 1% of the market, which isn’t much, but it’s the most significant downturn for them since June 2002. The downturn has been attributed to the “US-CERT recommendation”:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A6746-2004Jun25.html that people stop using [...]

Amazing Race 5

I’ve found my new favorite show. I watched _["The Amazing Race 5":http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race5/]_ last night and loved every minute of it. I’ve seen advertisements for this show many times before and was always mildly interested, but somehow I never got around to watching it. I’m not sure how I missed four whole seasons, but I’m definitely [...]

Finally Happy

I think I’m finally satisfied with the way things look around here. The stock background image in the header is temporary, at least until I can get outside and take some photos. I think I’d like to take a panoramic shot of Salt Lake from Grandeur Peak, the tallest mountain on the east side of [...]

BoxWave miniSync Review

Judging by the reaction I got from mentioning my latest purchase, I’m not sure anyone will be interested in this review, but I don’t want to go back on a promise, so here goes.
My “BoxWave miniSync”:http://www.boxwave.com arrived faster than I thought (only a few days after I posted my first entry about it). I’ve been [...]

Will You Quit Complaining, Now?

Well, I still haven’t done any graphic work, but I think the layout is pretty much in place. It will probably be tweaked pixel-wise to fit whatever design I build, but you get the basic idea. I would love to have something like the design over at “Ordered List”:http://www.orderedlist.com, but it probably won’t happen. Graphic [...]

Discrimination in L.A. County

==
(Click for alarger image)
==
Have you heard about the ACLU’s recent gripe against Los Angelos County? Apparently, they have alleged that the symbol of a cross on the L.A. County seal violates the Constitutional principle of separation of church and state. I’ve provided a picture of the seal so that you can see what I’m talking [...]

Spam Principle #1

I’ve seen spammers use incomprehensible text before, but one email I got today was the worst I’ve ever seen. I’ve included the text below, but I’m afraid it doesn’t do the email justice. It was actually styled very professionally. The text of the email was in a nice blue box, and the link was in [...]
