Gotta nickel? I’m trying to raise enough money to buy a MacBook entirely in nickels. If you’d like to help, click here. Thanks!

Engagement Photos

Janene and I went up to Brighton Ski Resort on a crisp Sunday afternoon a couple weeks ago along with a good friend of ours who is an excellent photographer. Our mission: capture some cute photos for use in our wedding announcements.

Without further ado, I present the engagement photos.

Amazon Wish List

My brother-in-law just sent me an email requesting that I set up an Amazon Wish List. I’ve had one set up for a little while, but it was in serious need of some pruning. I spent a little time today polishing it up, so if you’d like to get me something for Christmas, be sure to check there for ideas. I’ll probably be adding more stuff as the holiday approaches.

If you have a wish list, let me know in a comment.

Oranges and Apples

So I stopped by one of those little mobile phone kiosks in the mall last night to ask for directions to the bathroom. Out of curiosity I also asked if they had heard of the new Treo 650 or knew when it would be available from them (as far as I know only Sprint carries it now, and it’s only on pre-order).

The Amazing Race 6

The Amazing Race 6” kicked off last night. I first started watching this show during season 5 this summer, and I highly recommend it. If you missed last season, now’s a good time to start watching!

The Amazing Race airs Tuesdays at 9:00 pm Eastern and Pacific.

An Evening of Friendship

I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience last night. For the first time in over a hundred years1, an evangelical preacher was invited to speak in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. I had the great privilege of witnessing it with my own eyes thanks to the youth pastor at our church who happened to have a few extra tickets.

Ready for Primetime

Avocation has finally been ported fully from Movable Type to WordPress. There are still a few things I’ll need to figure out before I can port my Foundation blog, but I’m pleased with the way WordPress is handling my content. I especially love not having to rebuild anything. I also feel better knowing I’ll never have to pay to use my blog software.

If you see anything that still looks funny, let me know.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox 1.0 out of the box

After much anticipation, Mozilla Firefox was released today — no longer a “technology preview,” but a full-blown, stable release version. More amazing than that, for the first time I was able to run a flawless update using the new updater!

I couldn’t be more excited about this release. It’s great to be able to whole-heartedly recommend Firefox to friends without having to explain what a technology preview is and answer the inevitable question, “If it’s just a preview, does that mean it’s not stable?”. I’m confident this new release will kick the browser war up to a new level.

Have you rediscovered the web, yet? You have no more excuse. Do it today!

Septoplasty, et. al.

I underwent my very first surgery this afternoon. The observant reader will recall this was supposed to happen nearly a month ago. I couldn’t get October 12 off work at ContentWatch, so in early October I rescheduled the surgery to today. I’ve been meaning to edit that post but never got around to it.
